Hi! I’m Milissa!

I am the owner and baker behind Blue Seal Bagels. I also work on my own website, social media, promotion, photography… I guess you can say that I wear many hats (not literally though, I only own a couple hats I didn’t loom knit myself). I have a full time job that I like, but baking is my passion.
I also like to make jam and jelly and do so quite often. That’s actually how I started my cottage food permit in Fall 2019. Jam, jelly, and fruit butter. Eventually the pandemic hit and people had a hard time finding things like flour, sugar, and yeast. I had access to it at Restaurant Depot because I had a small business and it wasn’t open to the public (yet). I started buying what I could and putting it in bags on my table for anyone that may need it. Donations were accepted but not required. Eventually people could find ingredients again, leaving me with an abundance of ingredients. What’s a girl to do? Learn to make bread of course! In 2020 my cottage food operation went from Jams by Milissa to Blue Seal Bagels.
A little more about me… I’m in my 40s with two delightful kiddos that are my world, Phillip and William. I like dogs but I much prefer cats. I have two blonde and white tabby boys named Zim and Dib. I like coffee, Nintendo, Photography, Trivia… And spending time with all of my loved ones including my friends, family, and boyfriend.
